Nabila BarqabEnglish Tutoring

Hello! I’m Nabila, an English tutor currently based in Kenya, though my home is in Minnesota, USA. With extensive experience teaching English Language Learners from diverse backgrounds, I am dedicated to making language learning both enjoyable and impactful. I firmly believe that learning English doesn’t have to be tedious or boring; instead, it can be a fun and engaging journey. I am currently learning languages myself (more specifically Arabic, Korean, and Swahili) so I have a unique perspective as both a student and a teacher and will strive to make your language learning experience as meaningful and worthwhile as possible.
My approach focuses on creating strong connections with my students and tailoring lesson plans to meet their individual needs. I have successfully taught both online and in-person, connecting with students across Africa and Asia. I am passionate about the idea that language serves as a bridge connecting people and cultures, and I would be thrilled to contribute to that connection.
At 19, I bring a youthful perspective to my teaching, which resonates particularly well with younger students. I look forward to the opportunity to help my students not only learn English but also develop a love for the language as a whole.

As a Student Teacher at Anderson Middle School, I mentored ELL’s students along side my host teacher as part of a TA program at my university. My daily responsibilities included setting up for class, walking students through daily introductions to build language skills, as well as aiding my host teacher in daily activities. I also worked with students one on one to build conversation and literacy skills as well as helped students with their grammar and writing abilities.
