I believe that before you engage into creating your style, one has to understand the demographics of the students you are going to teach, it's not the same thing to teach 2-4 year old kids than to teach teenagers, although, and this is important, you can use the fundamentals to pretty much anyone.

That being said, you can take one of the three following routes, or better yet, take things from all three routes:

1. Traditional: Students listen to you as you explain. Plain and simple, the old reliable method of teaching

2. Conduct-ism: As you teach, you actively use conductual reinforcements to alter the previous behaviours and create new conducts, allowing the student to be more active

3. Constructivism: Letting the student create

his/her knowledge. You will hand them the tools for the students to create a more deeper relationship with the topic, but first and foremost, the main goal (per say) is to create an autoregulated student. That means, he/she is actively analyzing his/her way of learning and also, the student searches for ways to improve it.

Taking all of the previous points into consideration, the ideal style is to give the student the ability to feel part of the process. Instead of just explaining and giving away information that they will only try to memorize, you can alter your method by making them more active in the matter. Nevertheless, that doesn't mean all of your classes shall be that way, there's a time and space for each situation, some topics depending of their complexity can be suitable or not for this style, that's why I suggest you to understand the demographics of your class. Second, if you are going to make your style as a competition, or to make an ambient in which competition may arise, don't let others fall back, you have to always let others achieve the same goal but you need to respect their tempo, it can be improved, but it will never improve if it is the reason it demotivates the student. Third, let your students help each other. They are not alone, let them develop their social skills.
