I am proud to have achieved the World Best Performance in the IGCSE Edexcel examination in 2013, a success made possible by using relevant data to monitor progress, set targets, and plan subsequent lessons effectively.

With seventeen years of teaching experience in both the Edexcel and Cambridge curricula, I have developed strong expertise in preparing students for a range of examinations, including IGCSE/GCE(O/L), AS, and A2 levels. I make accurate and productive use of assessment to
secure pupils' progress and give them regular feedback, both orally and through accurate marking. I encourage pupils to respond to the feedback, reflect on their progress and emerging needs, and take a responsible and conscientious attitude to their own work and study. This approach has consistently resulted in outstanding achievements, with many of my students attaining A*, A, and B grades. Some of my students have even achieved perfect scores of 300/300 in their Edexcel AS level Chemistry Examinations.

In 2023, I achieved a commendable 94% pass rate, with 57.5% of students achieving A*, A, and B grades in the OL Cambridge Chemistry exam, as well as in AS and AL examinations. This success is partly due to my practice of setting homework in line with school policy and
planning other out-of-class activities to consolidate and extend the knowledge and understanding pupils have acquired. Additionally, I actively participate in arrangements for examinations and assessments, ensuring thorough preparation and support for my students. As a result of these efforts, in 2022, one of my students received a Grade Award for their exceptional performance.

I am also experienced in teaching the AQA and OCR curricula for UK students in an online platform, where I have successfully helped students achieve A grades. My excellent performance in Biology during my studies has led me to teach Biology for KS 3 and KS 4.

I manage classes effectively, using approaches appropriate to pupils’ needs in order to inspire, motivate, and challenge them. I maintain good relationships with pupils, exercise appropriate authority, and act decisively when necessary. As a positive role model, I consistently demonstrate the positive attitudes, values, and behavior expected of pupils. I have high expectations of behavior, promoting self-control and independence in all learners. As a result, many of my students have gone on to become undergraduates and graduates from prestigious universities such as the University of Cambridge, the University of New South Wales, and the University of Melbourne. They now serve society in high-ranking positions such as doctors, engineers, and other esteemed professions.

As a dedicated and experienced Chemistry teacher, I maintain high expectations for my students' involvement, work ethic, and behavior. I believe in encouraging them to explore new experiences inside and outside the classroom through a comprehensive extracurricular
program. This approach nurtures their creativity, resilience, and empathy, contributing significantly to their character development.

At the core of my teaching philosophy is the belief in the interconnectedness of all life, which I instill in my students by fostering a sense of teamwork and mutual respect. For example, when teaching about reaction rates, I engage students by explaining the factors that affect them and the methods for measuring these rates. I then divide the class into small groups, assigning each group a specific factor to investigate. I ask them to design a practical experiment demonstrating how that factor affects the rate of reaction, including specifying the required chemicals and equipment. After approval, they conduct the experiment. This method ensures deep understanding of the lesson while promoting teamwork and respect for each other's contributions.

I promote individuals who can effectively work as part of a group or team, supporting others to develop ideas and understanding. This is evident in our school's Vesak festival celebrations, where I encourage students to create Vesak lanterns with their peers instead of
purchasing them. This fosters teamwork, creativity, and a sense of ownership in their work.

I am a teacher who ensures that the subject area scheme of work is followed and that work is planned well in advance of delivery. I monitor and record the progress and achievements of each student, setting and monitoring homework assignments regularly in accordance with
school policy. I also assess student achievement and maintain record books, mark books and registers to a high standard.

I mark, correct and return students' work promptly, providing constructive comments and feedback as appropriate to promote high standards of content and presentation in accordance with departmental criteria. I also monitor any concerns with student achievement and take appropriate action.
Having detailed records for each individual student allows me to attend relevant parents' Evenings and meet with parents at other necessary times to ensure maximum student achievement. This practice helps me maintain a very good rapport with parents.

I possess a strong understanding of chemistry concepts, allowing me to explain complex topics clearly. I engage students in lesson plans and use real-world examples to illustrate the material. To motivate students, I plan out-of-class activities to consolidate and extend their
knowledge and understanding. For instance, when teaching calculations, I relate them to real-world examples like calculating the mass of cake packets, making the concepts more accessible and memorable. This approach has proven effective in helping students excel in
chemistry calculations in exams.

I am patient and supportive, treating my pupils with motherly care to ensure their safety and welfare. This aligns with my responsibility for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children and young people within the school, raising any concerns following school protocol.

My dedication to professional development is unwavering. I participate in relevant meetings and opportunities at the school and attend seminars and workshops to stay abreast of the latest trends in Chemistry and education. I am currently pursuing my Master's in Chemistry
Education, furthering my knowledge in the field. Additionally, I am following a professional development course named "Online Support for Partner Schools," provided by the British Council.

I am committed to delivering high-quality education and support to my students, ensuring that the subject area scheme of work is followed and that work is planned well in advance. I monitor and record the progress and achievements of each student, setting and monitoring
homework assignments regularly. I assess student achievement and maintain record books, mark books, and registers to a high standard.

Through my passion for teaching and belief in my students' capabilities, I aspire to inspire the next generation of scientists and thinkers. I am confident that my qualifications, experience, and enthusiasm make me an ideal candidate for the Chemistry Teacher position.
