I love facilitating learning and have worked as a training facilitator for more than 6 years. I also worked as a tutor for university students. I use a participatory approach to tutoring by encoraging a learner to ask questions. Good rapport and mutual respect are important. The ultimate goal is independent learning, so I encourage learners to set their own learning goals and work-plans, and to have structure and routine. Parental involvement is important, so I also communicate with parents, as they are part of the learner's support system.
