It's turning effect of force, it's vector quantity,if it's clockwise it's taken as negative and if it's
anti clockwise it's taken as positive

Torque= Force * moment arm
Unit
It's unit is Nm
In torque only vertical component is effective and the component which passes through pivot point is not effective.
Pivot point mean axis of rotation
The component which passes through pivot point is useless
2 nd condition of equilibrium is belongs to torque.According to 2 nd condition body of equilibrium sum of all the Torque acting on body is zero
