TEACHER OF ENGLISH (Jan, 2022
–Apr, 2022) at Muhudu secondary school, Mbale town (Vihiga)
I completed my high school education in 2016 and pursued a Bachelor of Education degree in English and Literature at Kibabii University, graduating with a first class honours degree in 2022. During my university studies, I gained valuable experience in teaching English as a second language, curriculum development, lesson planning, and classroom management.
After graduating, I taught English at various secondary schools, including Mudavadi Girls High School, Muhudu School, and St.Mary's Kibabii Boys High School. I was responsible for preparing and delivering engaging lessons, assessing students' progress, and providing feedback and guidance. I also participated in co-curricular activities, such as drama, music, debate, and journalism clubs, to enhance the students' communication and creative skills.
I have also taught English at Steadfast International School in Nairobi. While there,I taught students from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds, ranging from grade 5 to grade 10. I used a variety of teaching methods and materials, such as interactive games, videos, podcasts, and online platforms, to cater for the different learning styles and needs of my students. I also collaborate with other teachers and staff to ensure a positive and supportive learning environment. I am equally flexible and ready to embrace a new experience in the profession to match the dynamism of education.
I profess and possess experience in training students for poetry competitions; both own compositions and set poems. I equally have experience in preparation of students for debating competitions as I have had the occasion to present debaters in competitive forums. With this host of experience, I have confidence to help students in the said areas and beyond to realise their dreams.
