From half a Decade experience as a tutor My Sessions have always had 3 Objectives (To enable a Learner understand Complex Concepts, To equip a learner with necessary knowledge and Skills, To prepare a Learner for exams)
To realise this I employ A student Centered approach by first understanding their Needs in terms of Knowledge and Skills gaps, then using a systematic approach meet them. I invest alot of time in preparing ahead of a session to Meet the specific needs of a Learner.
For Pre-Clinical Sciences (Anatomy and Physiology) I make use of Clinical Scenarios to Put things into context while For clinical topics I utilise at a comprehensive approach (Building on all the basic sciences before dismantling the Main principles) then wrapping Up a session with practice questions at the end.
This Teaching Approach Has worked each time enabling Learners grasp Complex Concepts and apply them in exams and in practice and inturn have referred fellow learners.
