I started my Veterinary career in Montenegro where Montvet is the biggest and busiest clinic in the country, located in Podgorica, the capital city. There I gained a lot of clinical experience in pretty much every aspect of companion animal medicine and since there are no referral clinics in Montenegro we had to solve every case unassisted.
That experience helped me find a job and move to New Zealand where I worked as a Vet Tech/Nurse. Initially I was employed in a busy companion animal clinic and we worked mainly with cats. I was a Head Nurse there and didn't take on any patients, but I was able to instruct younger and less experienced Vets and help them manage more complicated cases. Later I transferred to a referral clinic for Exotic animals, also as a Nurse, where I learned a great deal on exotic animal medicine. That clinic also practices medicine according to BSAVA Gold standard so we were performing veterinary medicine to the highest standard.
Afterwords I decided to move back to Serbia, my home country, and I found employment here in Pančevo in a small companion animal clinic. Shortly after I started, there was a need for a Head Vet due to the current Head Vet leaving and I was offered the position. So I am now successfully running the clinic.

    • Doing consults is the main part of my job;
    • All non-routine surgeries are transferred to me by younger vets;
    • Doing all exotic pets consults and surgeries;
    • Helping and teaching younger Vets to handle more complicated cases and surgeries;
    • Finding ways to improve the clinic and increase the number of clients.

    • Patient care during their stay in the hospital, assisting Vets in consult, preparing the surgery rooms for procedures, induction and monitoring during anaesthetic procedures
    • Collecting samples for laboratory testing from following animal species: dogs, cats rabbits, Guinea Pigs, Turtles, Reptiles, Parrots and other pet birds. Placing I/V catheters
    • Prepping and laboratory testing of collected samples, in house testing included: CBC blood biochemistry, Lead testing, manual WBC count, preparing blood smears and other microscope slides and staining them, different fecal testing

    • Doing all routine consults with healthy animals like vaccinations and health checks
