Hi! My name is M Durga Rao, and have 22 years of teaching undergraduate students in the field of Mechanical Engineering, in a reputed college in India. Although I have taught a variety of design-related subjects including "Finite Element Analysis" and 'Machine Design", my favorite and most frequent subjects of teaching include "Strength of Materials" or "Mechanics of Materials", "Introduction to Mechanical Vibrations", and "Kinematics of Machinery". I have been a national TOPPER in the NPTEL (National Programme on Technology Enhanced Learning) Exam for the subjects "Introduction to Mechanical Vibrations" and "Strength of Materials" for the years 2016 and 2017 respectively. I am also involved in designing problem statements and corresponding rubrics for the Project Based Learning (PBL) course, particularly for second-year undergraduate students of Mechanical and Automobile Engineering, since 2016. I believe if you need to excel in any design-related course in Mechanical Engineering, you need to be good at understanding the fundamental concepts, using the right formulas, learning to use the calculator correctly, using proper units, good at basic math skills, and having good practice of solving problems. Hope to see you in the class.
