My lessons and materials are planned around a student's ability, goals and interests. We complete a certain level or reach an outcome that is decided beforehand by the student. After that we take the next step. We also follow a pace that is comfortable for the student. All relevant vocabulary and grammar need to be understood first and foremost. These are then practiced in different sentence patterns and contexts. Every practice activity that follows is highly engaging and interactive between us. They need to complete the actual work however, and I serve merely as the guide who directs them towards finding the right answers, and during speaking exercises I lead them towards the correct pronunciation, intonation and fluency. With this methodology, my students' scores increased by 57% on average, and their participation by 65%. My students also enjoy my classes because I keep it fun and lighthearted, and they learn and make progress at the same time. My motto is the same for everyone: you don't need to get it right the first time, you just need to start and try.

Fee details

    R300–500/hour (US$15.87–26.46/hour)

    The fee wil vary, depending on a student's level. When more planning, preparation, study materials and also more intensive instruction are needed with a student, the fee will be higher.
