In Mathematics, there is what we call basics or fundamentals. That is those concepts taught in Primary School. As I teach Mathematics I discovered that this basics are the answers to all that I am required to teach at higher classes. So for every topic I spend quality time to revise those basics before building on them. With that, students are able to see the connection with present topics and those taught before. Also, I try as more as possible to relate the topic to real life situation.
As for physics, my stake is always that when your background in Mathematics is strong, Physics becomes a piece of cake. All equations and derivation are expressed with the help of Mathematics. In summary you deploy your knowledge of Mathematics to solve problems in Physics.
Above all, practice makes perfect. Students should practice as many questions in their exercises as much as is possible. If there is any they cannot solve then we solve together as a team.
Then, learning becomes fun.
