Job profile
• Deliver theoretical and practical technical training to High School Graduates in the English Language. Assess trainees to the agreed External Verifier and Awarding Body standards. Trainer should demonstrate technical/ vocational training to students in the Welding subjects up 6G Position
• Preparation of performance-based objectives in line with course delivery and requirements of City and Guilds (Level 3) PAA/ VQ-SET (PEO Level 2) and Local specialized award program for Welding Trainees.
• Preparation of plant, equipment and materials in line with course pacing Schedule for each unit of study. Advise and maintain safe systems of work in line with welding program and current legislation. Carry-out preventative maintenance on plant and equipment to ensure safety
• Perform and monitor technical/ vocational training to students in the following Welding subjects:
• hand tools, power tools, drawings, safety, ox fuel cutting, plasma arc cutting, base metal preparation, quality, SMAW equipment and setup, SMAW electrodes and selection, SMAW beads and fillet welds, groove welds,
• joint fit-up and alignment, SMAW open V-groove welds, SMAW open root, pipe welds, SMAW-stainless steel groove and pipe welds, GMAW and FCAW equipment and filler metals, GMAW and FCAW plate, GTAW equipment and filler materials, GTAW plate, GTAW aluminium plate, preheating and post weld heat treatment of metals, physical characteristics and mechanical properties of metals, GMAW pipe, FCAW pipe, GTAW carbon steel pipe.
• Instruct students in all aspects of course content with emphasis on Safety, Teamwork, adherence to policy and procedures, Quality of work and good house keeping
• Provide feedback to course leaders and advisors regarding student Progress, Attendance and behaviour
• Assist in ensuring course content / delivery is fully understood and students are on track to complete awards in a timely manner
• Maintenance of workshop standards of housekeeping and cleanliness, Curriculum development and Teaching Aids
