Birgitta Abeysekra is a versatile pianist and keyboardist with a musical journey that began at the age of 3 when she started learning the piano and electone. By the age of 14, she had already completed her ABRSM Grade 8 with distinction and went on to pursue a performance diploma in classical piano, simultaneously delving into various modern music genres through electone studies. Recently, she earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Music from Universiti Malaya, majoring in jazz piano. Upon graduating, Birg actively engages in performances, concerts, as well as session and studio work. She also teaches from beginner level up to higher grades. From time to time, she conducts masteclasses around Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
