• Developed a laboratory scale microgrid test bed setup consisting of 3.3 kW PV system, Wind emulator, battery units and supercapacitor storage system to operate in both grid connected and islanded modes. • Designed and developed power electronic circuits consisting of bidirectional converters, boost converters. • Validated the working of prototype and its control using simulation and hardware testing with dSPACE 1202 control platform. • Involved in purchase of control platforms and simulators. • Designing necessary signal conditioning boards, suitable to operate the entire system using TIMicrocontrollers Developed real time model to estimate the State of Charge (SOC) of a lead-acid battery and supercapacitor units in various operating modes • Coulomb counting method is used to estimate the SOC of Lead- Acid battery • Burst control technique is incorporated for safe charging and discharging of the supercapacitor unit
