Born in 1968, I grew up in Jakarta, Indonesia, and moved to Taiwan with my family in 1983. At that time, I was still in middle school, so my memories of cultural differences in language were still fresh.

Upon arriving in Taiwan, I had to repeat the first year of junior high school. Initially, I struggled with learning Chinese in the first few months, but I forced myself to integrate, make new friends, and improve my Chinese.

In 1986, I was admitted to the Department of Electronic Engineering at National Taipei Institute of Technology. After graduating in 1991, I worked for three years and saved up some tuition fees to continue studying Computer and Information Science at the University of Oregon in 1994. I had to work part-time to support my tuition and living expenses. This marked the beginning of my personal journey living abroad and experiencing local cultures, as well as a significant improvement in my English proficiency.

After graduating in 1996, I returned to Taiwan to start my career in the computer support field.

From 1996 to 1998, I worked as a company representative and consultant for Infocomm, a software billing company in Taipei. My role involved helping two major telecom clients in Indonesia, Ratelindo and Satelindo. Due to my ability to speak Indonesian, I was assigned to Jakarta, Indonesia to assist clients in running bill inquiries, so they could generate correct invoices for their customers. However, due to the currency crisis, they were unable to fulfill their obligation to pay us for the bills, and I was eventually sent back to Taipei, and the support contract was terminated due to non-payment.

In 1998, I moved to the United States and got married in the San Francisco Bay Area.

From 1999 to 2000, I worked in customer service roles at several small companies in the San Francisco Bay Area.

In 2001, I moved back to Jakarta briefly at the invitation of my former wife's best friend's husband to manage his company. We lived in Jakarta for about eight months, but due to pollution and concerns about our children's health (they were still babies), we did not have a good time like family, so we had to move back to San Francisco the same year.

From 2005 to 2021, I lived and worked in the San Francisco Bay Area, Northern California, for 23 years, until 2021 when I returned to Taiwan due to health issues.

In 2012, I volunteered as a teaching assistant at the Tzu Chi Foundation's Chinese school, mainly participating in class activities and helping with recycling programs.

In 2021, after suffering a stroke during Thanksgiving, I decided to return to Taipei for medical treatment and recovery, as Taiwan's public health system is well-designed. I was able to get back on my feet and started part-time work at several companies in Taipei.

Since February 2023, I have been employed at KOGI Interactive Co., Ltd. as a contract worker. My role shifted from full-time due to a lack of resources for developing the U.S. and Canadian markets, such as long lead times and no assessment policies.

Starting from June 2023 I was higher by emerging talker as an online language teacher and have been teaching English, Indonesian, and Chinese for over 1000 classes online combined.

Key points of my experience include:

Over 8 years of experience dealing with external clients and stakeholders, as well as collaborating across departments to achieve project, team, and/or company goals.

Growing up and learning languages and local traditions and trends in a multicultural background.

10 years of experience collaborating with cross-departmental and cross-regional marketing and PM teams.
