A great teacher, is what you know, combined with the love/ respect the teacher have for the kid(s) infront of you. Do you as teacher, make an effort to help and reach the learner both with the knowledge and the love for the subject. Are you as a teacher, listen to questions of the learner (s) and try to answer it as best as you are able. I try to explain the notes in such a way that the learners understand it and the learner(s) can make it their own. When you understand the knowledge, its easier to study it.
Homework is important to complete the learning process and to correct the problem areas.
Communication between the teacher and learners and discipline in the teaching situation are essential for learning to happen. A child, love to learn when he/ she is in a calm, relaxing atmosphere. Teaching is in my blood!
