Hello. I am Rishan Singh. I am a qualified English teacher with a Cambridge CELTA certification that I completed at the Durban Language Centre in South Africa. I am currently based in KwaZulu-Natal in South Africa. It will be my pleasure and honour to tutor you in English and help you with other tasks that you may need help with. Below I have included some key points regarding my experience in teaching English. I hope this helps you to choose me as your tutor and that you will benefit from me. I want to give you the confident to read, write and speak in English.

Below is a brief history on the experience as a teacher and why you should choose me.

-I have taught students at primary, secondary and tertiary levels of education.
-I have designed work that specifically matched the type of students in my classes.
-I have successfully managed to mark assessment tasks using Moodle and provide students with feedback understood by them.
-I have taught students at Intermediate and elementary levels English using elicitation and the prescribed methodology taught in the CELTA qualification.
-I have taught students of all kinds of ethnicities, including Turkish and north african students.
-I have taught reading, writing, listening and speaking English to students who didn’t know English and I have received very good feedback.
-I have 2 years teaching experience working online with students as well as giving feedback and communicating with them using WhatsApp and email.

    Preparing and explaining course content to students online. Showing students how to perform experiments and to analyze data in relation to theory.
  • Intern (Mar, 2014–Apr, 2015) at SA National Research Foundation
    Training using various microscopy techniques, such as light, stereo, scanning and transmission electron microscopy. Writing research reports and assisting students with proper English writing and speaking tasks in the context of science.

    Preparing and explaining course content for practical purposes in person. Showing students how to perform practicals and to analyse data in relation to theory

    Teaching students who are foreigners how to read, write and speak English using receptive skills methodology, viz. visual and auditory study aids. The methodology taught during CELTA was used to assist Intermediate and elementary students with their English.

Fee details

    R300–600/hour (US$15.87–31.75/hour)

    My fees are as such because I will be using online platform like zoom or Skype. I will also be providing materials to learners via email and / or WhatsApp. The fees can be higher for additional tasks like assistance with the completion of homework.
