I am a self-remediated dyslexic with a degree in Sociology (Griffith University Australia) followed by training on remediation via the Madras Dyslexic Association. This makes me uniquely qualified in several aspects - because as a student I can understand the child but as a parent myself I can understand the parent's concerns too.

My experiences (varied in positions of life) have shown me that pain can be a powerful blocker to learning! This is why a spoonful of sugar is a part of our development in terms of learning is a requirement (which is why I prefer if students address me by name/anything they are comfortable in as opposed to the traditional 'ma'am' and if necessary a willing listener to aid in countering 'developmental' challenges that block academics. What I have been told would make me a great teacher is my ability to observe and use the smallest of details - at 360-degree level.

In short - I will try to combine being your comfort zone and your teacher at the same time.
