I believe that each child has a different learning style and a good teacher should have the ability to recognize this learning style and help the students accordingly. In the present competitive world, focus on competency based learning is imperative. In around 20 years of my teaching career I have been upgrading my skills to adapt to the changing educational needs of the students.
My teaching strategies focus on individual needs of the students. These include-
1. Use of multiple learning strategies such as hands on activities, experiments and videos and graphics to make learning interesting.
2. Provide extensive practice from the books recommended by the students, along with extra practice material from my side.
4. Conduct regular assessments / mock tests to keep students updated on their performance status and to diagnose the areas that need further elaboration.
3. Keep the parents in the loop and share the performance of their wards through regular communication.
4. Focus on concept clarity.
5. Take regular doubt sessions.
6. Revision sessions and crash courses near exam times
6. Flexible timings as per the student requirements.
I taught my previous students with a similar approach, and today, how they are leading stable and successful lives while still keeping in touch with me is a matter of great pride for me as their teacher.
