Hello Learner,

I am happy to support you with your social science journey in disciplines such as:
- Sociology,
- Social Studies,
- Caribbean Studies, and
- Social Research Methods.

I also provide:

- Proof reading, editing, and coaching services for persons working on their thesis / dissertation or research proposal
- Transcription services for recordings of qualitative interviews and focus groups, roundtable discussions, meetings, lectures, seminars and workshops with English speakers
- Resume Writing Services & Job Interview Preparation.

Do you need assistance:
a) Understanding sociological theories and concepts;
b) Studying and analysing societal institutions, as well as local, regional and international communities and cultures;
c) Designing and conducting social research;
d) Developing your sociological imagination; and / or,
e) Preparing for a job interview?

I am here to help guide you and cheer you on! I can assist with equipping you with the tools to successfully prepare for interviews, exams, course work activities, school based assessments, home work assignments, and / or research projects.

A main teaching strategy I employ is the scenario-based learning methodology, as I love to use current events and historical knowledge to show how sociology and other social science disciplines are applicable to understanding and excelling in the real world. I also utilise an inquiry-based learning approach where, for example, I regularly engage students with practice questions, past paper activities and mock interviews for their specific course or work-based activity. These learning strategies develop critical thinking in learners so that they can apply what is learnt to solve problems, excel at their exams and assignments, and personally develop into being a positive social agent in our complex global society.

I would be happy to meet with you online and design a tailor-made approach to assist you with the course requirements that you have or career progression activities you are interested in. I look forward to partnering with you to achieve your academic and career goals. Let's do this!

    Please note that I abide by the principles of academic integrity and as such I will not engage in 'contract cheating'.

    Contract cheating is defined as "the form of academic misconduct where students have academic work (coursework, tests or exams) completed on their behalf, which they then submit as if they had created it themselves." (Source: University of Auckland, 2023).

    Rather, in keeping with the guidelines from the Institute of Professional Editors Limited (IPEd), the services I provide include:

    1. "Substantive editing (sometimes called structural or content editing) [which] aims to ensure that the structure, content, language, style and presentation of the document are suitable for its intended purpose and readership."

    2. "Copyediting [which] aims to achieve accuracy, clarity and consistency in a document....."

    3. "Proofreading (usually called this but sometimes known as verification editing) [which] involves checking that the document is ready to be published. It includes making sure that all elements of the document are included and in the proper order, all amendments have been inserted, the house or other set style has been followed, and all spelling or punctuation errors have been deleted."
