In this course, the basic issues of prayer will be taught.
1. **Fard (Obligatory) Prayers**: There are five daily obligatory prayers in Islam: Fajr (dawn), Dhuhr (midday), Asr (afternoon), Maghrib (sunset), and Isha (night).
2. **Preparation for Salah**:
- Perform Wudu (ablution) which involves washing specific parts of the body (face, hands, arms, head, and feet).
- Face the Qibla (direction of the Kaaba in Mecca).
3. **Components of Salah**:
- **Standing (Qiyam)**: Begin the prayer while standing, facing the Qibla.
- **Ruku**: Bowing down with hands on knees, saying "Subhana Rabbiyal Adheem" (Glory be to my Lord, the Most Great).
- **Sujood**: Prostration on the ground, saying "Subhana Rabbiyal A'la" (Glory be to my Lord, the Most High).
- **Qa'dah**: Sitting position towards the end of the prayer for reciting Tashahhud and sending blessings upon the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him).
- **Salam**: Ending the prayer with salutations to the right and left (Assalamu Alaikum wa Rahmatullah).
4. **Additional Prayers**:
- **Sunan**: These are recommended prayers before or after the obligatory prayers, like Sunnah Mu'akkadah (emphasized Sunnah prayers) and Sunnah Ghair Mu'akkadah (non-emphasized Sunnah prayers).
- **Nafl**: Voluntary prayers that can be performed at any time, such as Tahajjud (night prayer) and Duha (forenoon prayer).
5. **Basic Rules and Etiquettes**:
- Dress modestly and cover the aura (specific parts of the body).
- Recite Surah Al-Fatiha (the Opening) and another portion of the Quran in each Rak'ah (unit of prayer).
- Maintain focus and humility during prayer.
- Avoid distractions and interruptions.
These are the fundamental aspects of performing Salah in Islam. If you have specific questions or need more details on any part, feel free to ask!
