Teaching methods of mathematics include lecture, inductive, deductive, heuristic or discovery, analytic, synthetic, problem solving, laboratory and project methods
There are various teaching styles and methodologies that can be used in teaching mathematics, and the choice of approach depends on the learning needs and preferences of the students.
1) The teacher centered approach:This approach involves the teacher presenting mathematical concepts and procedures through direct instructions.
2). Inquiry- based approach: This approach emphasize active students participation and exploration. It focus on developing problem solving and critical thinking skills. Teachers act as facilitators, guiding students through the mathematical inquire process and providing support as needed.
3) Technology integration: With the advancement of technology, teachers can incorporate digital tools and software into their teaching methodologies.
4). Collaborative learning approach: This approach promotes collaboration and cooperative learning among students.
5). Conceptual Approach: This approach focuses on developing students understanding in mathematical concepts rather than just memorizing procedures. Teachers use hands-on manipulative, visual aids, and real life examples
The goal is to create a balanced and inclusive learning environment that promote both Conceptual understanding and procedural fluency in mathematics to help students make connections and discover it themselves.
