I gained 50% A star at A level Biology and 50% A star at IGCSE Biology. This was with CAIE. I’ve also taught Edexcel, AQA A level and GCSE and International Baccalaureate Biology. I know the subject, that’s what marks me out well above colleagues, they ask me for information. Yes you will use the textbook but unlike other teachers, I know where the mistakes are in most major textbooks and can add to what they tell you and explain it.
