My name is Lydia, a 27 year old Kenyan, I have studied Chinese language for close to 6 years now. I have not only studied in the Confucius institute in Kenya but also in Tianjin China, where I did my Masters Degree. Learning a language doesn't only entail the language itself but it is also important to acquire the cultural aspect behind the language. I not only teach Chinese language, but also help the student understand the cultural perspective of it which will help the student to acquire the essential intercultural communication skills.

  • Chinese Language Lecturer (Feb, 2024–Present) at Confucius Institute University of Nairobi
    I teach Kenyan students as well as other nationalities in Kenya who have registered to learn Chinese at the University of Nairobi Chinese courses, from HSK 1 which is beginner. I also teach HSK 2 and 3 and help the students be well prepared for the HSK exams.
