French Tutor with more than 20 years of Experience and Over 2000 Students.

Greetings and a warm welcome! I am Daniel, presently residing in Singapore for an extended period and actively seeking new students. I am a linguist and an accomplished French instructor with a rich history of over 20 years in teaching diverse student profiles, including teenagers preparing for examinations, adults with diverse learning objectives, corporate professionals, and government entities. I possess extensive familiarity with a range of examinations and specialized programs, including but not limited to:

- International Baccalaureate (IB) French: Initiation (initio), Standard Level (IBSL), and Higher Level (IBHL)
- International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) in French (also serving as an examiner and invigilator)
- French in lieu (MOE syllabus)
- A level H1 / H2 (Junior College)
- Diplôme d'Études en Langue Française (DELF) examinations (also serving as an examiner and invigilator)
- Test d'Évaluation de Français (TEF) - Test de Connaissance du Français (TCF)
- TEF CANADA/TEFAQ for Canada immigration purposes
- French language training for diplomats
- Business and social French conversation courses
- French language instruction tailored for military and maritime contexts
- French language programs designed for government bodies, bilateral organizations, and non-governmental organizations (NGOs).

How to Begin:
Typically, I commence by engaging in a brief discussion with you to ascertain your learning objectives, motivation, preferences, and any specific deadlines you may have. For non-beginners, I conduct a simple written/listening and speaking assessment to gain insights into your needs and desires. Based on these insights, I curate a personalized program. Recognizing that every individual possesses unique language-learning needs and capabilities, I employ the most effective tools to ensure that your classes are engaging, focused, and enjoyable.

Teaching Approach:
I do not rely on traditional teaching methods or textbooks (unless you prefer them), as I have discovered over many years of teaching that most commercially available materials tend to be slow-paced and lack focus. Therefore, I have developed my own course materials exclusively for my students, which are more efficient and intuitive. In summary, I will teach you what is essential for your specific goals, omitting unnecessary content, while infusing some enjoyable cultural insights into the learning process.

Duration and Expectations:
The duration of your language learning journey varies according to your specific objectives:

If your aim is to navigate a one-week shopping spree in Paris, you will require approximately 30 to 40 hours of instruction (referred to as my level 1 or A1).
For those aspiring to communicate with French family members, socialize with friends, and engage with the French in work or travel contexts, a course spanning 40 to 60 hours is recommended (referred to as my level 2 OR A2).
If your goals extend to achieving fluency, whether for personal reasons, in a French work environment, or to express complex ideas and emotions, you should plan for 40 to 80 hours of instruction (referred to as my level 3).
For individuals planning to relocate to France for employment or academic pursuits and aiming to attain a high level of fluency, a comprehensive program spanning 50 to100 hours is advised (referred to as my level 4).
Please note that these timeframes serve as general guidelines and may vary based on your motivation, memory, ability to assimilate knowledge, class frequency, and dedication to homework assignments.

Material that I use: because standard books are too academic and not focus driven, I have designed my own method which is very comprehensive. It contains everything to reach up to the level3 - B1.
