1986: Started her formal Carnatic music training under her Guru the Late Vaadhya Vidhya Visaaradha Sangeetha Kalaa Booshanam Srimathi Vijayalakshmi Kulaveerasingam, who was a prominent ‘Guru’ in Carnatic music in the country and who was also a renowned violinist
1995: Gold medalist, National Thirumurai Competition organised by Malaysia Hindu Sangam
1998: Vocalist for the groundbreaking devotional album ‘Tulasi’ which rejuvenated the Malaysian music industry with their brand of reggae-fused Carnatic music which remains a bestseller to this day – racking up a sale of 180,000 units in Malaysia alone and was marketed successfully in England, Mauritius and Fiji
11 April 1999: Completed her aranggetram under the guidance of her late Guru
2003: Co-founded Sugam Karnatica with her two sisters Sujitra and Sumitra
2005: Trained personally by the great vidhwan guru Madhurai G.S.Mani - India (Sangeetham), guru Unni Mannur - Kerala (Western Classical)
2005: Handpicked by a panel of judges from thousands of applications as one of the participants for the Indian Music Training 2005 conducted by Mr. Bharadwaj, a renowned music director from India
2006: Selected by Mr. Bharadwaj as head teacher for the Indian Music Training in 2006 organised by ASTRO
2007: Sang in and produced another devotional album Vrnda with her sisters
31 July 2011: Gems Fusion Concert by Swaraa, KLPAC
2012: Vrnda was awarded the ‘Best Vocal Group’ by the US Global Music Awards
2013: Started the year by recording a song with Padmasri Hariharan in his latest album, ‘Just In Love’ in Powai, Mumbai with her sisters
2014: Took advanced vocal training with Srimushnam V. Raja Rao, Chennai (Sangeetham)
2014: Invited to sing in a devotional album entitled ‘Deiveega Ragam’ with her sisters. The album was produced and launched in Tamil Nadu
12-13 July 2014: Navarasa by Swaraa - Carnatic Fusion Concert, KLPAC
2015: Album ‘Nadaraja Patthu’ was produced in Chennai and launched in Kuala Lumpur with her sisters
2015: Thyagaraja Fusion Concert by Swaraa, which was entered into the Malaysia Book of Records at Shantanand Auditorium
2021: “Cultural Ambassador Award” by Women Icon Awards 2021 powered by Times Women
18 Feb 2022: Vittala, An Evening of Divine Music - Sugam Karnatica School Development Fund Raising Concert, Shantanand Auditorium
Apart from this, I sing extensively for bharatanatyam salanggai pooja and aranggetrams.
