Teaching is my passion. It comes naturally to me, as my students often claim that i make learning easy and fun. Throughout my teaching career the feedback I have received from students and parents has been overwhelmingly positive. The reason is not just my teaching skills and command on the language, but also my teaching philosophy and excellent rapport with students. I have served as a teacher trainer and observer for language teachers in schools and a subject specialist, providing paper setting and reviewing services for several branches. My students always say I make learning easy and fun, as I always keep my lessons relatable and current and strive to update my strategies to match the latest methodologies and philosophies.
My O levels, English language results have been outstanding with only 2 Cs, and 10 Bs in the last 7 years and the rest As and A*s. For GP my results have been similar, as I have striven to provide my students one to one and focused coaching in Research Report writing. I have prepared students for SAT and assistance in thesis and assignment writing for my colleagues and friends. I have coached students for debates, poetry recitation and other speaking activities. These results are from both f2f and online classes; as I am quite skilled in using digital apps.
My teaching philosophy is based on empathy and and my goal is motivating students enough to build on their self confidence. My aim is not just rote learning of concepts but an instinctual, indepth understanding of concepts from English, History, Philosophy, Psychology and whatever other disciplines are introduced in the GP and English classes through case studies and literary texts. I have always made a concerted effort to instill a love for learning, reading and observing life around us for life lessons, among students. Initially, my lessons are very skill oriented focusing on skill building, exam preparation is a later step. I do not believe in spoon feeding, instead I give my students full responsibility for their learning and facilitate, gently guide them to their goal. For instance, with Global Perspectives 'bias' is taught with examples from students own lives, cultural ideas, and personal reflection.
