My name is FANIRAN OPEYEMI PRAISE, a resident currently in Lagos, Nigeria and also a citizen of Nigeria. I was Born June 4th 1992 to a civil servant Mr Ayodele Faniran and my mum a petty trader Mrs Shola Faniran. I Started my art career at the tender age of 5 years old. I attended my nursery and primary education in Staff School, University of Ibadan, Oyo State. I had my secondary education at Walbrook College Ibadan where I graduated 2009, due to financial constraints I had a little delay with progressing with my education but I later went ahead to broaden my knowledge and improved on my skill sets before I later got admitted in the year 2013 to the Department of Architecture, Joseph Ayo Babatola University, Ikeji-Arakeji, Osun State, Nigeria where I obtained my Bsc/Msc in Architecture. My day-to-day focus has been to become better in my arts and reach out to the world with my creativity. And I’ve never for once stopped on this quest.
After graduating from the school of architecture, all effort to get a job seemed unsuccessful so I decided to make a living from my creativity. Asides making my own arts, I also created an unregistered NGO called ‘De ArtCrib’ which is made up of about 200 members and the sole aim was to bring creatives together to motivate them, teach them and guide them towards enhancing their creativity. I am popularly known as ‘Dammycriss’, I am popular for my outstanding works of art which I’ve done for both Nigerian Icons and international icons like Dj Khalid, Kevin Hart, Kim Kardashian, Kanye West, Davido just to mention a few.
I am currently a freelance architect and more importantly a visual artist who is ready to learn and unlearn. I am flexible, dynamic, hardworking, diligent and intelligent. I don’t take no for an answer in any situation. I draw, I paint, I craft, let me just say I do anything that excites my creativity. I have been interested in art and creativity all my life; I began creating at a very young age that’s about 25 years ago. I draw anything that catches my attention or gets my interest. I’m quite fascinated by lots of things from figurative drawings, to still-life drawings, to landscape, life drawings etc Asides these general ideas of drawings I love to try new mediums and techniques which make me very versatile with virtually any form of art that involves my creativity. I have a guide anytime I get on any project and that is the gear to be different, I always want my artworks to stand out and speak for me in a clear language of authenticity, distinction and showing the attention to details.
I teach art as an hobby, my sincere way of reaching out to my community and I have successful students as evidences of my outreaches over the years.

Experience

  • Artist, Art Curator and Art Teacher (Nov, 2021–Present) at ANASA COLLECTION AND ARNHEIM GALLERY, Ibadan, Oyo State, Nigeria
    The Anasa Collection and Arnheim Gallery is a sub-division of Anasa Workshop, which is directed by Mr Sean Alakija. It functions as a broad collector of arts and artifacts, educates kids especially from orphanage homes in art and crafts, organizes exhibitions and art shows and also serves as a gallery for temporary and permanent display of different art pieces.
