First step : I talk to the student, and ask questions so I can understand students background in music and students expectations then I talk to their parents separately,

Second step: based on the conversation, I'll prepare a plan, start working on
Checking students way of playing instrument, correct if there's any
I'll encourage students to have a discussion about music concepts in the class

I'll find different ways to teach music concepts in the class

If the student is appearing for grade examination then, there'll be special focus on music peaces and other technical aspects

Not only I teach songs or music peace, I'll make sure that students can read, write and sing music

I'll encourage students with homework, so they can engage with music everyday
