A teacher is a professional who creates a conducive learning environment for students to bridge the gap between the known and unknown content. Learning is enjoyable and less strenuous if it progresses from the already known concept to the new objective(s) to be achieved. Once the prerequisite knowledge is triggered, the new concept can be built from it in a stepwise manner (progressively) till the climax is reached.
I am an Examiner with Cambridge (CAIE). I am marking Pure Mathematics 1, 3 and Paper 5 Probability and Statistics 1. My experience as an examiner helps me to prepare students on how, what and when to write to avoid irrelevant stuff and time wasting but on the other hand optimize on scores. As a teacher, I believe that 75% of a student’s score is proportional to their knowledge and level of preparation while 25% comes from their ability to effectively communicate to the examiner. Hence preparing a student for exams should involve training the candidate how to write his/her answers to attract marks without the examiner straining during marking exercise.
The use of differentiation has helped me to nurture gifted and talented students. This is a deliberate instruction method. It is tailoring instruction to meet individual needs. Differentiation ensures equity rather than equality. This is simply giving a student a dose of content relevant & commensurate to his/her ability and need.
I am well versed with integration of ICT in teaching and learning so as to employ a broad range of instructional techniques to retain and sustain students’ interest thereby maximizing learning. These includes and not limited to the use of ActivInspire Promethean, GeoGebra, Desmos, XP-Pen and advanced graphic display calculator (GDC). I have experience in remote teaching and blended learning using various online platforms. I believe in engaging learners with hands-on activities, real-life scenarios and case studies to help them develop critical thinking, innovation and shape their perspectives both in Mathematics and STEM.
I am a registered candidate with Search Associates. This is a renowned teacher recruitment site (agency) which conducts a thorough background of a teacher prior to listing on their site. Please review my experiences, qualifications and confidential reference in detail in Search Associates database.
