I hold PhD and Master of Public Health (MPH) from Maseno University, one (1) year experience as Lecturer at the Mount Kenya University, Rwanda, and six (6) years as Sessional lecturer at the Technical University of Kenyans’ Department of Health Systems Management& public health, where I have taught various units with rigorous course loads both at graduate and postgraduate level. I have also garnered seven (7) years teaching experience on an e-learning platform with the Unicaf University, where I have taught as lecturer to their various modules to undergraduate and postgraduate students across the world. I was part-time lecturer at the Great Lakes University of Kisumu for 1 year and a volunteer lecturer at Maseno University and Nagasaki University (Japan) where I taught among other courses, Ecology, Biology, Epidemiology, research methods and monitoring evaluation among others. In 2019, I was appointment to the position of External Examiner with University of Dar es Salaam College of Natural and Applied Sciences (CoNAS) as thesis examiner to their post-graduate students. I am also approved dissertation/thesis supervisor with the Unicaf University campuses in Malawi and Zambia; I am currently supervising one (2) PhD student from Unicaf University Zambia, I have prevised over 40 master’s students for the Liverpool Moores University (UK), 10 masters and five (5) Bachelor students at the Mount Kenya University Rwanda. On research, I have spent nearly 15 years as a researcher working in the field of public health, particularly in areas of Public health, environmental, and community health, mastering various methods of basic research, control trials and laboratory experiments. Together with other colleagues, I have published widely in refereed journals (over 50 publications). I have also been able to attract grants as indicated in my attached resume. These experiences afforded me the opportunity grow as both a researcher and academician with great organizational skills in addition to excellent communication and people-management skills.
My other duties include being a scientific editor and reviewer to various reputable journals (BMC public health, Journal of tropical medicine, Plos One, Archives of public health, among others. I am also a member of the steering committee (SC) of Future Earth (health), a global network of scientists, researchers, and innovators collaborating for a more sustainable planet.
