My passion for teaching mathematics stems from a three-pronged desire to help learners:
• develop their logical thinking, reasoning power, analytical thinking, critical thinking, heuristic attitude, and other non-cognitive skills needed to persist in higher-order courses.
• demonstrate the ability to solve open-ended problems and create proofs and derivations with their own independent intuition.
• develop their mathematical perspective and outlook for modelling and solving problems in the real world and unique contexts, thus, demystifying the perceived fear of the subject.

My primary role as a lecturer is to facilitate and monitor student participation; nurturing patterns of mathematical reasoning and inviting the students to explain their thoughts to others. Learning requires deep understanding that can only come when students internalize and actively apply knowledge in creative and meaningful ways. I deliberately involve the students in the process of learning by taking them beyond just listening, but thinking, reasoning, and doing. This I do to empower the students to articulate ideas and process mathematical principles and problem-solving procedures in ways that are meaningful to them. I strive to engage, challenge, and inspire growth in my students; focusing on optimizing a range of desirable learning outcomes that include conceptual understanding, computational fluency and flexibility, rigorous competence, and adaptive reasoning.
