I am an experienced and dedicated Lecturer with a passion for teaching and creating an engaging learning environment. Proven success in developing and delivering lectures, creating effective course materials, publishing research papers and providing community services .
I am graduated with Master of Science in Mathematics from Addis Ababa University (2008) and with Bachelors of science in applied Mathematics from the same University (2006). Moreover, I have hold my Masters and bachelor’s degree from Mekelle University in civil engineering while teaching mathematics at Mekelle University.
While working as a full time lecturer in mekelle University for the last fifteen years I have given different teaching services within and outside the University and developed my professional skills. This icludes :
- Teaching advanced courses in mathematics. Such as : Algebra, Calculus, Statistics, Applied mathematics, Numerical analysis, Optimization theory, Computational methods, Geometry, Partial and Ordinary differential equations and Mathematical modeling for under graduate students in the University. Just . to list some.
- Assisting students develop basic programming skills and Implement numerical methods using computer programs(codes) such as Matlab, C++ and Python to solve mathematical problems.
- Providing tutorials for students which includes working with individual students to reach their academic goals, meeting with students to clarify and review concepts learned in class and help students solve specific problems.
- Assisting students with homework, projects, test preparation, papers, research and other academic tasks to help them understand key concepts, especially those learned in the classroom for college and high school students outside the university through online and face to face as necessary.
In addition to teaching responsibilities, I am actively engaged in research and scholarship in both mathematics and civil engineering. I have published numerous research papers in reputable journals and have presented my work at conferences and seminars.
Moreover, I have prepared high quality teaching materials for the University such as Mathematical modeling and Numerical analysis. I have also carried out administrative tasks related to the department, such as student admissions, induction and coordinating programs and involvement in committees and boards.
Finally I would like to inform you that I am so willing and well prepared to help anybody who is interested to study mathematics and related subject areas to a maximum effort .
