The average student is afraid of mathematics and calculation subjects generally, as they assume it's too difficult. While this maybe true, excellence in mathematics depends on the resources being consumed and tutor. As a teacher passionate about changing the narratives i have been able to improve the confidence and analytical calculation solving problem of my students over the years. I have been able to achieve this by the multiple illustration method (solving enough examples on any topic) and simple techniques methods (every problem in mathematics have diverse ways of solving).
