I am Shohani Egodage and I have been a teacher for fourteen years in my home country, Sri Lanka. My teaching experience ranges from teaching undergraduates who were learning English as a secondary language at the University of Kelaniya to teaching and guiding students in three most prestigious International Schools in Sri Lanka; Gateway College (2008-2010), Colombo International School (2010-2016) and Elizabeth Moir School (2016-2021). I hold the CELTA certification awarded by the University of Cambridge which is an equivalent to a Level 5 teaching ualification/HND or Associate Degree and a Bachelor’s degree in Humanities from the University of Kelaniya – Sri Lanka. (English Literature, International Relations and French were my core subjects.) Upon completion, I was chosen from approximately ninety graduates to teach English at the English Language Teaching Unit of the university in 2007, embarking my future career as a teacher. Teaching is and will remain one of my passions; seeing students grow and develop with knowledge, compassion, awareness and understanding is truly a great privilege. The past fourteen years of my life was dedicated for this cause.
