With a strong background in education and a passion for fostering academic excellence and holistic development, I am a qualified and experienced teacher and tutor for KS1, KS2 and GCSE (Maths).

After attaining my QTS in 2017, I have taught across KS2 and KS1. During this period, I have also served as an English coordinator and Maths intervention coordinator. Prior to becoming a qualified teacher, I have worked as a higher level teaching assistant, subject teacher (Maths) and an unqualified class teacher. Preparing children for 11 plus entrance exams for grammar schools, organising and participating in fundraising events and running after school clubs are some other avenues that I have explored to enrich my experiences.

As a Maths Intervention Coordinator, I have gained valuable experience in organising, planning, and evaluating mathematics interventions and support beyond the classroom. I have successfully managed and monitored the mathematics budget, ensuring accurate accounting and optimal resource allocation. By introducing a mastery-led approach to teaching Maths, I implemented the NCETM documentation, cross-curricular teaching of Maths, and the CPA approach, creating an engaging and comprehensive learning environment for students. Furthermore, as the English Coordinator, I have implemented effective assessment systems for spelling and writing, ensuring high-quality teaching across the school. I have provided constructive feedback to teachers through regular observations, promoting professional growth and enhancing teaching practices. Additionally, I have monitored the quality of work in Language books and supported colleagues in various areas such as understanding the decimal system, assessing work against the National Curriculum objectives, and effective planning and teaching. I developed the 'Intent, Implement, and Impact' document and composed the Action Plan, fostering a clear vision for English education.

In my role as the English Coordinator, I also identified the key factors contributing to children's low attainment in writing. Through the introduction of innovative strategies in KS1 and KS2, I significantly improved writing skills. Identifying discrepancies in writing levels given by teachers across the school, I introduced a consistent method of assessing English writing, ensuring fairness and accuracy. I trained staff members on the implementation of this approach and took responsibility for training new staff members. Moreover, I spearheaded the rollout of new schemes for reading and writing, effectively training other staff members and enhancing literacy outcomes.

I firmly believe in the power of cross-curricular learning and have consistently integrated subjects such as science, maths, and English to create meaningful and engaging educational experiences for students. By incorporating drama, technology, and art into the teaching of various subjects, I have successfully motivated and inspired students to excel academically.

Understanding the wider responsibilities as an educator, I have maintained positive and professional relationships with colleagues. I have delivered twilight INSETs for feedback and facilitated continuous professional development courses. By observing other teachers and sharing good practices, I have fostered a collaborative and supportive learning community. Additionally, I have effectively communicated with parents through weekly summaries and meetings, ensuring their involvement and keeping them informed about their child's progress.

I am proficient in creating tailored lesson plans and adapting teaching methods to suit individual learning styles. Strong understanding of GCSE Maths curriculum and exam requirements and
excellent communication and interpersonal skills enables me to effectively engage with students and parents.

During the Covid-19 period, I continued teaching well planned lessons congruent with students' educational needs, grading students’ work, providing feedback, monitoring and reporting on pupils’ progress using online platforms and resources such as Google classroom, BitPaper and zoom.

Finally, I place great importance on staying updated on safeguarding matters and ensuring a safe learning environment for all students. I consistently engage in professional development opportunities to enhance my knowledge and skills in this critical area.

I am dedicated to driving academic excellence, promoting a nurturing and inclusive school culture, and empowering students to reach their full potential. I am confident that my extensive experience, leadership qualities, and commitment to fostering holistic development make me an ideal candidate for this position.
