Good day to everyone! I am April Rose B. Villarin and a proud Filipino teacher from Cebu, Philippines. I am a graduate of Bachelor of Secondary Education major in Social Studies at Cebu Normal University, one of the most prestigious schools when it comes to teacher education here in the Philippines. I have completed the academic requirements in my Masters in Education major in Social Studies and I am now working on my thesis in the same university. My university training did not only teach me on the theories of education but it also equipped me to be a competent and effective classroom teacher through an actual student teaching experience and other kinds of teaching immersion in the community.

I am a licensed professional teacher and I am currently teaching in one of the international schools in Bekasi, Indonesia handling humanities subjects such as Business Studies and Geography. In my previous work experience before coming to Indonesia, I taught Economics, Asian History, World History and Contemporary Issues.

Moreover, I have been integrating other Social Studies disciplines in the classroom discussion to enrich the content and widen the knowledge of the students on Social Studies. With my sixteen years of classroom experience as a lead teacher, I believe I can offer the best learning atmosphere and experience to my students. Through the use of varied, differentiated and engaging classroom activities, I hope to impart to the students content and values so that they will be formed to be active and engaged citizens of the society.

I also handled student organizations and clubs such as the Girl Scouts, Commission on Elections, Business Club and MUN coaching to name a few. These organizations and co-curricular offerings helped me unlock my innovative and creative abilities which helped me to be more efficient, effective and competent educator and instructional leader.
