Well-rounded Pure Maths and Applied Mathematics graduate who enrolled for the Postgraduate Certificate in Education in order to be a professionally qualified teacher. I would like to equip the youth with the necessary mathematical skills as required in the real world or in further studies. I have various ways of expressing the same mathematical concept, including verbally, using a table of numerical values, visually by using graphs and diagrams and by using algebraic equations. I enjoy showing people that Maths has real world applications and is not there to make their lives difficult. For example, trigonometry is applied in triangulation whereby the location of an object is determined. Mathematics gives an individual a systematic and logical way of thinking especially when instilled at an early age. I can diagnose learners' problem areas and address them accordingly. I am also able to work with gifted learners. I enrich their knowledge with more advanced problems and accelerate their learning. I can explain concepts at the level of each specific student because in Maths there are various approaches, although some are more efficient than others.

Fee details

    R300–400/hour (US$15.87–21.16/hour)

    For school learners the rate is R300 per hour and for university students, the rate is R400 per hour.
