My name is Judith Smetana. I have been an English teacher for over thirty years. I am able to quickly adapt and find alternative methods to continue teaching effectively. I use different methods of teaching so that students can experience a great class and have fun. I feel comfortable using online interative tools and incorporating them into my lessons to make the material more engaging and interactive. This can include using videos, interactive games, or virtual whiteboards as well and AI bots. I focus on the entire English language; speaking, reading listening and writing.
Furthermore, it is important for a teacher to have a good understanding of the online platform being used and be able to troubleshoot any technical issues that may arise. This will ensure a smooth and efficient lesson for students.
In my classroom, each student learns differently, and this is especially true in an online setting where students come from diverse backgrounds and learning styles. A good teacher should be able to adapt their teaching methods to accommodate different learning styles and abilities. This can include using a combination of visual, auditory, and kinesthetic approaches to cater to the needs of each student.
Moreover, it is important for a teacher to be open to feedback from students and make necessary adjustments to their teaching style based on their individual needs.
Finally, I always will encourage my student to engage in conversation and ask questions when needed.
