Hey Guys! My name is Rajarshi and I am a professional guitar player with over 6 years of experience as a live musician in the entertainment industry. I am also a BTEC level 4 (above grade 8) Distinction Holder in Music Performance from The Institute of Contemporary Music Performance, London, possessing advanced knowledge of music theory and technique on the instrument. My areas of musical interest range across various genres starting from pop, rock, folk, country, fingerstyle, blues, to jazz and more modern/ contemporary jazz. Since I have gone through all of these musical phases/ genres myself, I have a holistic understanding of what key areas a student needs to concentrate on and needs to be guided through in order to achieve proficiency. I also perform across the city at various venues on a regular basis as a session musician ( guitar player).

Moreover, I am self taught as well as have had formal training under specific music instructors throughout the years. This allows me to understand different types of students, their needs and interests, how to have a focused goal oriented learning approach and how to stay motivated. I have had various types of students throughout the years, from complete beginners to slightly more advanced players from Kolkata and abroad (while I was studying music in the UK) and still continue to teach some students abroad.

I offer different types of classes depending on what your goals are on the instrument. For beginners, I concentrate on building a strong musical foundation and to make learning as fun and engaging as possible through a lot of real world musical examples. For more intermediate/ advanced players, depending on what they want to learn or what their goal is, I share different techniques, phrases and ways of applying music theory within their desired genre. I also talk about guitar tone, production, recording tips and how to fit in and play in bands, whether you are accompanying a singer as a duo or playing in a bigger band with many instruments. If you're a more advanced player looking to push yourself or improvise better, than I'd be more than happy to help you with that in a very systematic way.

Fee details

    ₹500–800/hour (US$5.92–9.47/hour)

    All classes are 1:1 sessions. Charges vary depending on the level of the student and location( India or abroad). Duration of classes are always between 1-2 hours( irrespective of the hourly charge since some topics and level of teaching require more time). Classes come with teaching material as and when required/applicable and guidance over Whatsapp or call outside of class timings.
