I Sreya Srinivas, have been learning the art of bharathanatyam for the past 21 years.
I have completed by arangetram in the year 2015. I have been selected to perform in Ilamayil thiramai of Krishna Gana Sabha in 2016 and performed Ragam, Tanam and Pallavi at Kartik fine arts, Narada Gana sabha in the year 2018. This performance was reviewed by ‘The Hindu’ newspaper. I was awarded scholarship for a performance at the ‘Omkara Nada Brahmam trust’ in the year 2018. I was selected by Prayathnam to perform in their Nrithya samarpanam series and was given a slot for being the topper in their 6th level exams. Recently, I have performed for the Dance Drama Festival conducted by Abbas cultural in May 2023.
Academically, I have completed my Masters in Bharathanatyam from Annamalai University in the year 2018 and I have completed all six levels of Yathnam exams conducted by Prayathnam in 2019. I was the topper of the 6th level exam for which I was awarded the title ‘Bharathakalamani’. I have completed a certificate course in Bharathanatyam from Dr. J. Jayalalitha Tamilnadu music and fine arts university in 2016. I have also completed Diploma in Nattuvangam in the year 2020 and Diploma in Teachers training from Tamizh University in the year 2021.
