I hold a B.A. in theatre arts with honors from the University of Iowa, a New York Teaching License, and an ESL certificate from The University of Cambridge, England. My twenty-plus years teaching English and making theatre allow me to use drama and performance techniques to immerse my students in learning English. I understand language skills are not just rules and repetition but enjoyment and emotional connection.

With my expertise in teaching English as a Second Language (ESL) and my proficiency in Portuguese and Spanish, I am well-equipped to create a welcoming environment for English language learners. By tailoring grammar and vocabulary games, phonetics, discussions, writing, and presentations to generate fluency and accuracy, my students quickly achieve their academic and personal goals.

As an ESL teacher with a background in teaching performance construction workshops, I bring a unique set of skills and experiences to the language arts classroom. My experience in adapting to my students' personal styles and needs helps me to create a personalized learning environment that allows my students to not only learn English but also to connect with it on a personal level. By incorporating my experience in performance workshops, I encourage my students to express themselves in English confidently and creatively, making the language learning experience more engaging and enjoyable for them.
