Hey everyone! I'm Sajal Singha, and my heart beats to the rhythm of tabla. I started my tabla journey around 11-12 years old, learning from Shri Haran Nath, a disciple of Pt. Sanjay Mukharjee. The magic of Pt. Kumar Bose's tabla playing hit me in 8th grade, making me decide that tabla would be my life.

Music has been my constant companion. I even focused on tabla during school and managed to score a solid 90%. Later, I continued my musical education at S.D.M.C. Gov. Music College, Agartala, Tripura, delving into the captivating world of the Benares Gharana under the guidance of Guru Sri Suman Ghosh, a disciple of Pt. Kumar Bose.

Life threw some financial challenges my way after my bachelor's, but in 2022, a virtual tabla workshop by Pt. Kumar Bose opened up new possibilities. Now, I'm in the 3rd semester of M.A. Music (Tabla) at Chinmay Vishwa Vidyapeeth (CVV), learning from the greats – Pt. Abhijit Benarjee and Dr. Atul Kamble.

Beyond tabla, I find joy in playing pakhavaj and sreekhol. In the world outside music, I dabble in cooking, writing poetry, and devouring books. Looking forward, I dream of earning a Ph.D. in tabla, becoming a successful tabla maestro and teacher. My mission is to share the classical tradition in all its glory, blending in modern vibes.

Oh, did I mention a few milestones on this rhythmic journey? I clinched the 1st place at Sanskar Bharati Dakshin Assam in 2010 and snagged the 3rd place at Sangeet Chakra, Silchar in 2019. Being a guest accompanist at Doordarsan Kendra Silchar in 2022 and an All India Radio Yuvavani artist in 2016 were surreal moments too.
