I am a freindly, laidback yet methodical data proffesional with 15+ years working with the various technologies in business intelligence development. I have worked for small to medium (SME) size companies as well as large enterprises, working both as a full time employee and as a freelancer.

My teaching is hands problem solving, ideally working on a project the student/ mentee has already been assigned. This is helpfull as the student has something tangible and meaningfull to apply the learnings to.

I believe soft skills and methodology are as importantant as technical know-how when it comes to working with data technologies. This is due to the abstract nature of the discipline and the often nebulous requirements given to the developer from business users. Knowing how to approach a solution and/or understand the requirement is a skill in itself, and there is no one way to solve a problem.

I happy to do Skype or teams calls, with sessions from 1-2 hours at a time. I'm happy to research in my own time solutions to questions or problems that a student might face if we can't solve the problem in the sessions.

I'm flexible in my approach and happy to do ad-hoc sessions or a more rigid approach depending on the student requirements.

Fee details

    £20–85/hour (US$25.64–108.97/hour)

    Fee's vary depending on if the student/ mentee is currently working full time for a commercial business and is funded by that business, or not.
