Hello, I'm Mariam Khalil, a medical graduate with honors who loves teaching science, especially Chemistry, and Biology for IGCSE O-levels. Back in my school days, I aced 8 IGCSE O-levels and 3 A-levels with A*, thanks to my amazing tutors who not only taught me but also inspired how I teach today. I'm here to share their effective methods and make learning science fun and easy for you.
• Teaching Style and Approach:
In my tutoring sessions, I prioritize a student-centric approach grounded in simplicity and engagement. I believe in breaking down complex concepts into easily digestible parts, summarizing chapters for clarity, and fostering open discussions to enhance understanding. To ensure active participation, I encourage in-session questions, providing students with a platform to express uncertainties and seek clarification. Repetition plays a pivotal role in my methodology; I understand that repeating concepts, solving numerous questions, and revisiting past papers are crucial steps toward securing that coveted A* grade. My teaching philosophy revolves around instilling confidence through a comprehensive understanding of the subject matter, all while maintaining an atmosphere of patience and encouragement.
• Goals for the Student:
My ultimate goal as a tutor is to empower my students with the tools and knowledge they need not only to excel academically but also to cultivate a genuine appreciation for the sciences. I aim to guide them toward achieving A* grades by reinforcing fundamental concepts, providing ample practice through questions and past papers, and instilling in them the confidence needed to tackle examinations. I understand the needs of students like myself, having been one, and I am committed to delivering a tutoring experience that goes beyond the curriculum, nurturing a passion for learning and critical thinking that will extend far beyond the classroom.
