I am Dr. Susmita Das, a dedicated and accomplished scientist specializing in Botany mainly plant physiology and biochemistry. Currently serving as Honorary Visiting Scientist at the Agricultural and Ecological Research Unit (AERU), Indian Statistical Institute (ISI), and holding an Honorary Researcher position at Sister Nivedita University (SNU), my research focuses on understanding arsenic-induced toxicity in rice (Oryza sativa L.). My academic journey includes a Ph.D. from the University of Calcutta, where I worked as DST-INSPIRE Fellow, Govt. of India. This research tenure earned me recognition through various awards and fellowships, including the prestigious Young Scientist Award from ISPP, India and the NASI Swarna Jayanti Puraskar, NASI, India. Beyond research, I am passionate about mentoring and have also trained interns from different institutes in research. I secured TOP rank during M.Sc. from the West Bengal State University and achieved DST-INSPIRE Fellowship form the Govt. of India for doing my PhD.
