  • JRF & TRA (Mar, 2019–Dec, 2022) at Vellore Institute Of Technology, Vellore
    during the time spent at the Vellore Institute of technology, I got the chance to learn and publish some relevant works related to protein biology and bioinformatics in different reputed international journals. Initially, I engaged in a group of computational biologists who were specifically looking on IDR proteins and their role in different applications. Later, I started working with protein motifs which show some specific properties such as metal binding or affinity. I have identified some major protein motifs/patterns behind mercury and chromium binding in this metal bound protein structures. Using the knowledge, our research group applied some protein engineering techniques to create a surface engineered E.coli strain to display these protein motifs on their surface for bioremediation solutions.
  • JRF (Jan, 2018–Jan, 2019) at IISER Bhopal
    Working at the Molecular Biophysics Laboratory in IISER, I primarily acquired knowledge in molecular biology, Genetic engineering, and biophysical techniques. I worked with mitochondrial outer membrane proteins (mOMPs) such as VDAC and BAM, which play additional roles in ROS suppression, aging, cancer, and neurodegenerative diseases. I studied the biogenesis, function, and regulation of these proteins. Our ultimate goal is to identify a functional link between mitostasis, mOMP remodeling, and quality control and the onset of cancer, neurodegeneration, and aging-associated diseases. During that time, I was gained experience in cloning, ASM mutant library creation, Sample preparations for sequencing, Primer designing,Bacterial and Yeast transformations, Proteins expression, extraction and purification, Proteins folding and unfolding kinetics, equilibrium studies etc.
