Hi! My name is Charlene. I take an eclectic approach to teaching based on what works best for the student. I use a variety of teaching resources, including textbooks, online tools, audiovisual materials, and real texts, to engage students and provide a well-rounded learning experience. Over the past year, I have worked as a part-time ESL teacher, where I had the privilege of teaching two Chinese students. During this time, I witnessed their remarkable growth, particularly in areas such as reading, intonation, enunciation, and listening skills. My knowledge of the International Phonetic Alphabet (IPA) has enabled me to help students improve their ESL pronunciation significantly. I thoroughly enjoy expanding learners' knowledge and love for the English language.

Furthermore, my experience as a teaching assistant has equipped me with the necessary skills to plan and execute engaging lessons. I had the opportunity to develop and deliver enjoyable Science lessons to four classes of 30 students. Additionally, I taught phonics and reading to first-year primary school students, fostering their literacy skills from an early age.

I believe my patience, interactive and adaptive teaching style, coupled with my communicative approach and cultural sensitivity, makes me a great ESL teacher.
