Winston Joseph Silva
FIDE Trainer ( certified by the World Chess Federation)
National Master ( From Phil Chess Federation)
I have more than 20 years of teaching different demographics, i.e., age, gender, skill level ( beginners to intermediate and college varsity students), and varying time zones, among others.
I use various teaching materials from physical books to PDFs to online sources. I normally use Skype, and Messenger for voice support during online classes, and most of the time use Chess.com or LiChess platform as an interface to deliver the classes.
I incorporate a motivational approach and shares personal experience with the goal of bringing out the best version of what my students can become. Having a periodic dialogue with the parent/s of my young learners is also very important to me as I put them in the loop on the progress as well as bringing them in to work hand in hand and listen to their suggestions or comments.
I believe that the success of the engagement is a result of a clear road map and being dynamic to the need for timely changes.
