I am a resilient, versatile and dedicated Maths Teacher with 23 years of teaching experience in Secondary Schools. I am familiar with the challenges that children face in Maths which can be quite stressful. My empathetic and accommodating teaching approach enables me to adopt a personalise teaching approach which caters for the individual learning needs of each student, always ensuring that my classroom is inclusive, meeting the needs of SEN, mainstream and higher attaining students.
I am fully aware of the challenges associated with teaching special needs children, those that find maths challenging and the ones preparing for final year exams. My calm and positive approach filters through to students causing them to in-turn remain positive and calm under times of stress or conflict. I design and implement growth mindset teaching approach which is a teaching method that enables students to improve their confidence, ability and intelligence in Maths.
I have exceptional skills working with teachers, parents and specialists to meet educational needs of students. I provided homework assistance and feedback using specific curriculum and materials and collaborate with students to complete homework assignments, identifying lagging skills, and correct weaknesses.
I have plenty of experience supporting students with helpful study habits and exam preparation strategies with excellent success.
